Other than your main brand, a business usually has other creativity on its derivatives. Not protecting them will be such a loss.

Having a registered trademark will prevent others from using similar names or logos that may confuse customers or registering anything related to our brand that has value for building a business is highly recommended. Some businesses also have unique products and intellectual property in addition to the main brand and are registered for protection. In Indonesia there are also businesses that register their brands with the assistance of IP consultant Indonesia.

Here’s an example of a brand that successfully registered their unique trademark.

1.Starbucks has filed many interesting and iconic trademarks over the years, such as "Frappuccino" and "Venti," which are registered trademarks owned by Starbucks. This means that Starbucks has the exclusive right to use the name "Frappuccino" for their blended coffee drinks.

2.Burger King has been in business for over 65 years. Over the years, they have offered unique menu items that many consumers enjoy. Some of Burger King’s slogans, such as “Home of the Whopper” and “Have it Your Way” are registered as a trademark.  As times have changed, Burger King has tried to modernize they also introduced their new concept which is “Whopper Bar” and added it as a trademark because the idea of the name is unique.

3.HokBen is a local F&B brand from Indonesia. HokBen, formerly known as Hoka Hoka Bento, specializes in serving Japanese food. They have a unique kids' menu called "Kidzu Bento," which is a trademark of the brand. Additionally, in 2022, they registered another unique trademark with the Intellectual Property Indonesia for the menu "Hoka Pastaku”

Brand Mascot can also be registered as trademarks for legato protection

Additionally, businesses can also file their copyrights with respected IP offices for art or design elements such as mascots, jingles, characters, etc. Registering design elements is a way to defend and safeguard their creations from being copied by other businesses and as a distinctive symbol of their brand, making it easily recognizable to consumers just by seeing the mascot. Here is examples of brands with their famous mascots
